Much of the work that I've created in the past two years draws from an interest
in fashion design. I study a lot of necklines, fasteners, ruffles, pleats and
decoration of traditional costumes from around the globe. The way that two
panels of clothing cross or fasten to one another and the gentle sweep of a
graceful skirt intrigues me. Using the vocabulary of forms and techniques that I
have built up over the years, I explore these and other interests in my baskets.
One basket informs the next and the cycle repeats.
